Tantalizing Thai at Swez Brasserie @ Eastin Hotel Penang

As you can guess from the title, today I am going to blog about Eastin Tantalizing Thai! I've made it known that I am a huge fan of Thai food so imaging how happy was I when I got their invitation for the food testing!! In case you have no idea what Tantalizing Thai is about, let me intro you some. It is Asia most robust and flavorsome delicies in celebration of the Songkran Festival, and you're able to experience the true delight of spicy, sour, sweet and salty flavors of Thai cuisine!

Lucky us were able to enjoy the good food again!

Eastin Hotel Penang’s chefs- Ong Chin Hock.

I love Thai food because most of them are spicy! I am the person who love to challenge spicy food “所谓不辣不过瘾”! For a period of time, I was like seriously addicted to Thai food and I almost craving for everyday! So Eastin hotel came out with this set of menu and it was so good I seriously encourage all of you go and give a try! The best food review I ever had, slurppppp! Do I sound like a crazy spicy lover now lolll.

Our first dish...
Som Tam (泰式酸辣木瓜沙拉)

According to the chef Muhammad Bakri, they handpicked the young papayas (green in color) as it is more suitable to be made for papaya salad. But honestly salad is not my thing so I never try it, as you know certain people like me hate vegetables! :( But it looks very crunchy and delicious, you can give a try!

Yam Talay (凉拌海鲜沙拉搭配香草酸辣调味酱)

Spicy seafood salad with fresh herbs and lime spicy dressing, made by a good combination of prawns, oysters and squids which is specially for seafood lovers!I simply love the chewiness of oysters and squids, and of course the prawn are very fresh as well!

ต้มยำกุ้ง TomYam Goong (酸辣鲜虾东炎汤)

The Thailand's Spicy Prawn Soup with Lemongrass and Galangals Lime Juice has very unique unity of tastes which is spicy, sour, sweet and salty. The dish was ranked #8 in the Top 50 most delicious food in CNNGO, one of the dish that you should not miss out in ant Thai cuisine! I love this soup personally because it is spicy enough to excite me, I keep asking for more and surprisingly I able to finish everything! :p Thumbs up

Pla Neung Prik Manao (香辣柠香蒸鲜鱼)

Another heavenly dish for me! It is a Thai style sea bass steamed fish with chili Lime sauce and it has all the nice flavors from the freshly used ingredients. Fish is always my favorite, the fish is very fresh and goeey with a really special spicy flavoring. So perfectly cooked,  you can hardly believe that I finished everything on the table.

Geang Keaw Whan Gai (泰式青咖喱)

A very special dish that we rarely can try in normal days! Most of us used to eat red curry as compare to green curry, right? It made of chicken green curry with eggplants and basil leaves! Malays always call it as kuah banjir/nasi banjir because it looks like flooded rice when we pour a lot of gravy. Besides it tasted not so spicy, perfectly for those who could not take much spiciness

Phanaeng Gai (泰式红咖喱鸡)

As I mentioned, red curry is more spicy than green curry! The red curry flavor is quite strong so I prolly  love this more lolll. I attacked the plate til nothing was left :P

Yam Makhue Yao (香烤辣茄子搭配鲜虾鸡肉碎)

For this, it tasted slightly spicy and it is made of combination of minced chicken and shrimp.

Tod Mun Phad (泰式炸鱼片)

Next up is the Tod Mun Phad. I love a combination of Seabass and Dorry fish which is cooked together with lemon grass, garlic and so on. The chef normally call it as " Thai Fish Cake". Tip: The sweet chili Thai sauces go well with the fish cake and make it even more delicious. I cant describe how much I love the sauce, mmmmmmm!

Nue Phad Gung Hom (泰爆九层辣牛肉)

Generous pieces of beef seasoned with flavorful chili and basil leaves! The beef is extremely tender and melts in your mouth.

After bursting with all the spicy foods, we were served our desserts!

Khow Neaw Ma Moang (芒果糯米饭)

The Mango Sticky Rice contain coconut milk steamed glutinous rice, served with sweet golden Thai mangoes and slightly salted coconut cream. The whole combination was perfect to end a meal.

Tab Tim Krob (红宝石椰汤)

So overall I was very satisfied with their Tantalizing Thai food! And in case you are reading my post now and craving for it, fyi it is available during lunch, hi-tea and dinner at Swez Brasserie from 1-30 April 2014.
